When Crytek company announced that a remaster for the original Crysis game would launch this year, we all were excited to see how much the game’s legendary graphics would improve. But unfortunately, a leaked trailer has left so many fans disappointed around the world with the graphics. Now Crytek has pushed the game’s release date.

A released trailer was showing some of the gameplay. Also, a July 23rd release date was leaked on YouTube, and the visuals left a bad taste in some fan’s mouths. Several commented on how the game’s graphics remained significantly unchanged from 2007 original to 2020 Remaster. In youtube, there is one fan said to the remaster Crysis trailer”looks like original Crysis but with the lowest settings.”

If You Detaily watched the trailer you can decide for yourself if the game looks too similar to a 10+-year-old game:

Crysis, a sci-fi first-person shooter series initially released on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 in late 2007. It was praised for its graphics and remained a remarkable benchmark for people looking to test the power of their gaming builds. So, when Crytek agreed to remaster the game with “high-quality textures and improved art assets,” they would also inexplicably pass the “can-it-run-Crysis” test on a Nintendo Switch.

Crytek acknowledged the leaks and the disappointed fans by promising to work on the game a bit more. “This extra time until release will allow us to get Crysis Remastered up to the PC and console-breaking standard you’ve come to expect from Crysis games,” Crytek said in a statement on Wednesday.

In today’s game industry, it’s not uncommon for games to be delayed once or even multiple times, though it’s rare to postpone a game due to backlash. Crysis Remaster’s delay was remembering a similar move made by the film industry last year if you can remember when Paramount pushed back the release date for Sonic The Hedgehog’s film adaption after it received backlash regarding the design of the titular blue hedgehog.

Fans are upset with Crysis Remastered’s graphics, so Crytek is delaying the game…

Crysis official twitter page release this tweet few hours ago.

“Your passion for the Crysis franchise deserves an undeniably high-quality game, and we are committed to delivering just that,” Crytek wrote in a statement posted to Twitter this afternoon. “To ensure we meet that commitment, we will need to delay the launch date (all platforms) and trailer premiere by a few weeks.

“You might be aware of the leak yesterday, and we want you to know: we’ve seen all the reactions – the good and the bad – and we’re listening! We’re still working on a number of things in game as well as the storefront. Please keep the love coming, and rest assure, you’ll have the game you love shortly!

“This extra time until release will allow us to get Crysis Remastered up to the PC and console-breaking standard you’ve come to expect from PC games. We hope you understand what we’re up to – and that you stay with us while we take the time to make a few more improvements.”
